Color Inspiration #43

Here it is.....my first attempt at a kwernerdesign.com color inspiration. For those of you who have a tough time choosing your own color combos here is a great way to get you started! Each week there is a new "color inspiration" posted on her blog. 

I didn't have a Brocade Blue ink pad or marker (I can't believe that!), so I used  Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun markers for the candles and Brilliant Blue on the present. Otherwise I followed the Color Inspiration completely. This was fun and I'm going to try to stay with it every week if time allows. Its a great way to get the creative juices flowing for my card making.

Rockabilly Heart Journal

I have no idea what I'm going to do with this absolutely cute journal, but I LOVE IT! I wanted to use the Rockabilly Specialty (114039)paper and some On Board pieces and this little journal just seemed right for them. I've always been a Mary Englebreit fan and this paper would fit right in with her stuff.

Occasions MINI CATALOG Sneak Peek!

I couldn't wait to use the new Scalloped Oval Punch (114889) with the new OVAL ALL stamp set (113790) in the Occasions MINI CATALOG! 

The new Occasions Mini Catalog items will be available April 1 - June 30th, 2009. There are a few items being offered for purchase before then. I will get a list of those posted. For now I just wanted to add these two quick and easy cards using the oval punch and stamp set.

Birthday Flower and Butterflies

Another card using the Petal Pizzazz set, as well as the Flight of the Butterfly set.

I don't typically make cards this size, but I just ordered some of the open ended envelopes from SU and wanted to have a few cards made up when the envelopes arrive. 

This card was all about leftovers! I had the butterflies and flowers cut out from previous projects and pieced them all together. I love it when I can use up my scraps!

Birthday Pastels

Petal Pizzazz stamp set

I had this set out making another card, so while I was at it I changed up the colors and made a few cards with it. I love layering flowers and this set is great for that. As long as you don't mind cutting a lot of them out.....for some reason I find it kind of relaxing to cut things out, so a lot of my cards have cut outs.

Birthday Tree

I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday. I used the Season of Friendship stamp set that was in last year's Holiday Mini Catalog. So, I've had the set for a few months now and this is the first time I've used it. After I made this card I realized I should have been using this set a lot by now! Cute! 

I also used the Trio Flower Punch for all of the adorable Riding Hood Red flowers on the tree. And, beings that the card was for my mom-in-law I spared no expense and used a million brads....okay, well maybe only 17! Still, 17 brads on one card....that tells a person you love them right?! :0)
